The Original Chaos Station
Around the summer of 2019 I was asked by some friends if I wanted to join a, I guess “Noise Rock” would be the best genre, band they were working on. I was excited by the idea, having made some ambient and noise music in the past, and got to work on a set up. They said they wanted me to be in charge of the noise, so my original idea started to look something like this:
A mixer, some iPads, an old phone and my laptop. I always knew I wanted to incorporate the tape recorders into the set up to but I did t know how
After having an idea of what was going to be included in the set up, I knew I needed a portable “Station”. So I started to look at the scraps of wood around my house and came up with the outline of the original deign:
While it was coming together I knew this wasn't quite enough, so I got to work making a design with two main requirements in mind. 1. I wanted a shelf just for the mixer. 2. I wanted some way to organize chords on the stand and not just loose behind everything. So that's exactly what I did:
There are 4 small hooks on the back side to help with chord organization!
From there it was time to paint! and as it is a "Chaos Station" I maybe got a little out of hand...
And as much as I did end up liking this it was not the final paint job (I've probably gone back over it at least 3 times since the original). But after the paint dried I loaded everything back on and I
The set-up worked for the time being but we didn't really do anything with the project. so it kinda sat for a few months not getting used or worked on. That changed a few days ago though. A new urge came over me to make this station. But this time its not with the intentions on being in a band with friends, it is with the intention of making a one man band. This new set up is building off of the original design and incorporating new instruments and a table like set up...
